I’m not sure that I would qualify (or identify) as disadvantaged, but I am fairly confident that I have many of the other strengths mentioned (history of leadership and dedication to a field of endeavour). How much is eligibility determined by disadvantage?

Short answer: you should apply since it is an important consideration. Long answer: our Selection Committee weights all the issues we outline on the website. Need, leadership, merit, professional and personal goals are all considered. We want to help those persons who have the greatest need and also have a proven track record of leadership and scholastic achievement.
